First "look": see if the surface of the cast iron cookware is smooth, but it cannot be as smooth as a mirror. Due to the casting process, the cast iron cookware has irregular shallow lines. Under normal circumstances, cast iron cookwares are somewhat rough, which is inevitable, and will become smooth after a long time. Defects and small raised parts are generally iron, which has little effect on the quality of the cast iron cookware, but small pits are more harmful to the quality of the cookware, so you should pay attention to it when purchasing.

 

Second "listen": a cast iron cookware with uneven thickness is not good. When buying, you can turn the bottom of the cookware upside down, press your fingers against the center of the concave surface of the cookware, and hit it with a hard object. The louder the cookware sounds and the greater the vibration, the better. In addition, rust spots on the cookware are not necessarily poor quality.
